How to Cure a Hangover in 60 minutes!
When it comes to alcohol it’s hard to say no, but whether you’ve got a lecture or work to attend we all DREAD the next day. We'd like to think we've got pretty good at the post night out alcohol recovery method so we thought it’d be best to share our tactics with you! Here’s our top tips on curing that hellish hangover in 60 minutes!
0 – 5 minutes
DRINK: WATER. WATER & SPARKLING WATER
You’re an amateur if you don’t take a glass of water to bed with you. As soon as you open those hazey eyes reach for that glass and guzzle away.
Make sure you’ve got a bottle of sparkling water in the fridge ready for after your shower, this is key in the recovery.
5 – 10 minutes
Shower power.
Have a nice old soak in the shower. Definitely not a bath, that’s far too long to think about everything you did the night before and we assure you that will make you feel worse. Cold blast at the end to give your body the wake up it needs.
10 – 20 minutes
Get ready!
Go for comfort & move quickly the longer you have the fuzzier your head gets and you don’t want to lose the motivation you just created in the shower.
Jeans, jumper, trainers DONE.
20 – 35 minutes
EAT
Don’t do it, McDonald’s never helps. Tried and tested a lot. You need something fresh, sweet and salty. Our favourite is 2 slices of seeded wholemeal, smother it in butter and marmite and then layer the avocado on top, slice up some fresh cherry tomatoes and a little spring onion and last but not least a soft boiled egg (poached is too hard to try hungover, but if you’re a pro then go for it!) chuck it all on the plate and squeeze some fresh lemon on top. Tasty & full of goodness.
35 – 50 minutes
Get outside! We’re walking to Tesco!
You need coconut water, whether you enjoy drinking it or not. Its jam packed with anti-oxidants and electrolytes, specifically potassium. These are the most key components of your hangover treatment. So get a carton and drink it...all.
50 – 60 minutes
Go to work!
Or if you’re a lucky bugger and don’t have any work commitments nor University to attend, ring friends. Don’t be alone. Where possible stay outdoors and go and explore but most importantly keep active.
You’re ready for the day and you’re welcome.
Additional extra's to see you throughout the day...
Ginger tea, peppermint tea, bananas, blueberries, Lilt (personal fave), crackers, celery with PN butter and paracetamol.
