8 Student Cleaning Hacks!

It’s most likely coming up to the end of your tenancy and you have to do the dreaded clean up. Well, we’ve put together some tips on how to leave things nice and clean without using harmful substances.

1) Sliced lemon and boiling water to leave your microwave easy to wipe and smelling fresh.

Just put in the microwave and turn on for five minutes.

2) Use coke to clean your loo !

3) Black Tea to clean your mirrors… yes way.

The tannic acid gets rid of the grease.

4) Salt and grapefruit for the bath!

If you hate the smell of harsh cleaning products this is one! Sprinkle salt on grapefruit and rub over soap stains to remove.

5) Stain on your carpet?

Mix two parts water with one part vinegar and spray on the stain, lay a damp cloth over the top and iron it…. Result!

6) Low fat non-stick cooking spray to clean soap scum.

May not be the most cost effective, but people swear by the one! Spray it on the glass door and leave to sit a while, then wipe it down! (Make sure you have a bath mat in case you slip)

7) Work as a team, 10 hands are better than one.

8) Favourite tip! Vinegar just about shines anything, it’s also good for cleaning glass.

General rule, if you can get it off – try vinegar!
