Time to follow through with those New Year’s resolutions!

We’re well into January now but it’s not too late to get on the healthy bandwagon. Condor Properties gives you their top tips for getting started on creating that summer body nice and early.

Breakfast of Champions

Studies have shown that avoiding carbohydrates in the morning can help burn more fat through the day and help improve body composition. Ditch the sugary breakfast cereals and white toast. Instead have good quality proteins and fats with a serving of veggies! The old classic bodybuilding breakfast of steak and eggs is a winner. Or for a more cost effective option why not have some of last night’s left over spag bol (minus the pasta)?

Hiit it Hard

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It’s been proven to be far more effective at burning fat than hours on the treadmill! Just 15 minutes will do you. Try 3 minutes low intensity and then 1 minute all-out effort. You can use whatever you like, rowing, running, cycling, swimming…

Fat Doesn’t Mean Fat!

You’ve always been told that fat is unhealthy and to pick the low fat options. Not so quickly! Fat may be the most calorie dense of the macronutrients but it’s not necessarily unhealthy. Make sure you’re getting plenty of good quality fats throughout your day. These can be from things like avocados, fish, red meat, organic peanut butter, dairy etc. Just be mindful of the calorie content and you’ll be fine. Fats are vital for things like good skin, hair & nails, they also keep you fuller for longer!

PUMP IRON

Weight lifting isn’t just for the meatheads at the gym! By now you should know that lifting weights is the holy grail of health and fitness for men and women. The health benefits are endless… And if it’s that toned summer body you’re after then get off the treadmill and lift! Keep the intensity high by minimising rest between sets to and torch fat. Add in your hiit at the end of the session and you’re on track for a cover model body in no time.
